The ship breaking industry is supposed to be a great recycling industry that offers a sustainable way of disposing out-of-date ships, tankers and vessels. The benefit would be both economically as well as environmentally. Most of the cases, every part of the hull and machine complex being reused or recycled as scrap metal. This million dollar industry located in Chittagong has been a point of international interest due to the fact that the way ship is being disposed is questionable according the global benchmark. Many articles have been written, few documentaries were shot, many discussion are happening on labor/worker safety, humanitarian aspects and environmental issues. Currently, this controversial place is only possible to visit from outside to learn little bit about this industry. Apart from this, Port City Chittagong, the economic capital of Bangladesh, has much to offer you.
